Blackpool Transport recognised for bus service enhancements

The transformation of bus services on the Fylde coast has earned us a place on the shortlist for a high-profile industry award.
We are among the front-runners at the UK Bus Awards following a landmark year that’s seen the introduction of improved timetables, freshly branded routes, and a renewed focus on responding to customer feedback.
Now we are hoping to secure top honours in the small to medium-sized (SME) operator category at the awards when the winners are announced in London next month.
Jane Cole, Managing Director, commented: “Over the past 12 months, we’ve worked tirelessly to match services to the needs of customers, and we’re delighted that judges have recognised the steps taken to offer even more choice, improved frequency and better connections with other modes of public transport.
The awards success also recognises the successful launch of new branded services, including the Cleveleys Connections and Lytham Lines, which have proved a huge hit with the travelling public alongside increased early morning, evening and weekend buses across the network.
“Regardless of the final result, reaching the shortlist is an achievement in itself, and something that the entire team can be proud of, especially as it comes so soon after we secured top honours in the Tram Operator of the Year category at the National Transport Awards,” Jane added.
The winners of the UK Bus Awards are set to be announced at a gala event in London on Tuesday, November 25, and further information can be found here.
